Seventh in the tournament acceptance list doesn't mean seventh seed, especially not at this early stage. There will be withdrawals, there could even be wild cards parachuted in. Also, though less significantly, the seedings will be based on a different ranking list, so the players aren't necessarily seeded in acceptance list order.

Looking at the entry list for Souzhou, I can't help but feel Donna could do really well there. Realistically, I expect her to make the quarterfinals, but I think that with a little bit of luck she could go even further.

Outside the seeding line-up there are very few players which I see as a real threat for Donna. Maybe Mayr with her vast experience could trouble our kid, but other than that I'm pretty confident she could beat any one of them. Among the seeds (as things look right now, who knows what might change in the coming weeks), Doi could be very dangerous for Donna, cause she's pretty much a type of player that's the thing of nightmares for attackers and big hitters. Thankfully, Donna has already shown that she can go from offense to defendse, but who knows how she would've handled the situation in a certain set of circumstances. Beyond Doi, there are of course the top two seeds (Peng, Hsieh) which are overwhelming favorites to reach the final and that's pretty much it. I really don't see some big force in that field which could eliminate Donna early on.

But of course, the list could change in the coming days and we might be in for some surprises. Hopefully of the good kind.

As a movie lover I find this answer really odd. I get the same reaction as when I hear people say "oh I don't like listening to music". What, not at all? I would have thought that with all the sitting around in hotel rooms that tennis players probably do they would watch lots of films.
