Re: Donna Vekic
Now I can say that Ula Radwanska would've been a much better match-up for Donna.

Re: Donna Vekic
Donna lost 6-4 6-4 I know I shouldn't be disappointed but I am a bit. She didn't play as well as her previous matches, her serve wasn't as good and she had a lot of trouble returning. I think it'll be a long time before she's in another WTA final. But still a great week

Re: Donna Vekic
not feel particularly disappointed, bit relieved to be honest, glad too see donna making such progress and how much she still could improve

Re: Donna Vekic
I take the positives from this one. Shvedbarilescu was right in some other thread - a tournament won at this age would've put a lot of pressure on Donna's shoulders and god knows if she could've bear the weight. Lots of talented girls failed at it.
A loss, on the other hand, should give her the motivation to continue improving and repeat this performance sooner than later.
All in all, this week was heavenly for Donna.

I hoped for Radwanska, knew she had less chances with Begu.

It's normal to be dissapointed a bit, after some time it will change.
She didn't play as well as she could have but still even like this she wasn't that far away.
You never know about future, if she will play similar quality tournaments then she has a chance to repeat it.

I agree.
Losses are not that bad in her age.
Hopefully she again learned something from it.
Also Begu dserves to have a title, too much talent not to have 1 at least.
Also she is 6 years older, big difference in experience.

Re: Donna Vekic
By the way when was the last time a Croatian won a WTA singles title? Was it Lucic at Bol 1998?

Majoli in Charleston 2002, before which Talaja won Strassbourg in 2000.
