Officially Top 200 for the first time! 
And yes I'm sure she will play at least a couple more tournaments this year. After Tashkent she can play nine tournaments (outside Grand Slams) before 28th June so maybe if she plays two more this year and seven next year? 
Is she leaving juniors behind completely now? |

Can't say I'm totally shocked by this result, but really glad that she made it through qualies this time around.
Puig is not that much more experienced (at 19, she is quite young herself), and she isn't ranked that much higher than Donna (156); not to mention that she prefers clay so on the indoor courts of Tashkent she, unlike Donna, couldn't be more out of place. In NY she lost to Fichmann who, at her current #212, is about 100 spots away from her best ever ranking, and she hasn't played any other events on faster surfaces since the middle of March.
Overall, already a great tournament for Donna, another milestone has been reached. A win in the main draw would've been great, but even the experience of playing a top 100 or even top 50 player would've been nice for her at this point, not to mention the sole participation in the main draw of an actual WTA event.

Donna will play against Magdalena Rybarikova in the first round. Rybarikova is # 54 at the WTA list.
If nothing else, it's gonna be great experience for Donna!!!

I wonder what are the chances of that one finding it's way to Center court i.e. live streaming...probably not very high. Although, to tell you the truth, I'm not even sure I want to watch that - it might be brutal, given the circumstances.

She plays better against good opponents 
I now pronounce that I will no longer thin Donna over ranked (unless she plays more Uzbekistani 25Ks) and that she is the second best 96 girl behind Townsend  |

I really expected this win, no surprise here.
It's great when she is on level high enough to beat players like Puig so easily.
Very harsh MD opponent, very unlucky bc Rybarikova is in good form.
Good for experience at least!

Maybe someone has more info then I do, but today only CC matches were streamed. Who knows, maybe organisers change something for the rest of the week.

Townsend is no where near the level of Vekic and Barty.
