Not quite, unfortunately, as she's defending 12 points from winning Chiswick last year. She needs to make the final to be ~200 and to win the title to be in the top 200 for sure.

Yes, she didn't do as expected in some of the more important junior events, but she still made it to top 20 in juniors with very few tournaments played, and that does mean something. It would've been nice if she'd have a slam semifinal or something like that under her belt, but it's not bad this way either.
And as far as her not being as good as some may think - well, no one can really know how good she could become, cause she is still very young and restricted in her development. She might become a top 150 or a top 20 one day, time will tell.

Re: Donna Vekic
You never know what can happen.
Today players are at the top of their game somewhere around 30, not 20 like before.
Just look at the players that won their first slam in recent years, like Stosur, Li and Schiavone.
It's important that she keeps working hard and she'll probably get there.
Results are not important at this stage, I don't really matter if she wins this tournament or not. I just hope she'll work hard as she can.
Look at Torro Flor, she's already pass 20 and out of nowhere now she made 33 wins on ITF Tour(inclouding 100k challengers).
Compare her to Ajla Tomljanovic who is year younger, but also was in TOP 150 when Torro almost couldn't win a match.
And now Torro will be in TOP 100, Ajla will soon drop out from TOP300.
She needs to believe and of course have some luck, and she'll have a decent career.

Re: Donna Vekic
with this win she will be around No. 200 on WTA list
it will be very hard in final match, probably against Witthoeft . . . she is very talented, won matches against Pironkova and Amanmuradova

Re: Donna Vekic
Great to see her win another match; hope she'll at least make the final competitive.

Re: Donna Vekic
Carina is the favourite to win the final, no doubt about it. And...I'm not hypocrite, so I confess I'd be happy with either player winning

 How?
Carina is only a year older and lower in the rankings. If Donna loses this, it will be bad.

Re: Donna Vekic
^^
 Did you follow Witthoeft's results?
She is clear favorite in this final, it's not all about rankings...
Loss in the final would be totaly expected.
I hope for a different outcome of course.

Re: Donna Vekic
I knew at the start of the tournament that Donna and Carina were the two best players in the draw so I'm happy that they were in opposite halves. It's no surprise they're playing against each other in the final. They're two of the more talented up and coming players.
I agree Witthoeft is the favourite. This year she's already beaten Pironkova and Amanmuradova. She won $25,000 Ystad as a qualifier last month and has won 15 of her last 16 matches. Donna definitely has a great chance though.
Both players are two of my favourite juniors so I'm really not sure who I want to win.
But Donna really needs to start winning more finals.
