Donna got lucky in that in R1 she will play a fellow qualifier, Demi Schuurs. Schuurs has never had a pro singles ranking but is currently #40 in juniors, two spots ahead of Donna. All in all, it's not a bad chance for Donna's first MD win.

Since Donna is a qualifier her R1 match will probably (I assume) take place tomorrow, which is good news cause she'll have some time to rest and prepare.

The not so good news is that bad weather will probably interfere with this tournament's schedule, cause showers and thunderstorms will hit most of the country this afternoon, and it'll spread to the coastal region by tomorrow, with strong wind expected also. The day after tomorrow it should clear out, but rain is also expected somewhere towards the weekend (probably Saturday).

Hope that doesn't hurt Donna's focus.

She's probably on court at this very moment. I didn't even realize (until minutes ago) that her R1 match is scheduled for today, not before 13:30 CET. Today's program started at 10 AM, but still no results posted anywhere.

Wow, great to see that she fought back like this!!! I was really worried after hearing that she lost the first set, but the important thing is that she's through. Now she'll surely get a day off (it's about time, after 5 matches in 4 days), and whatever happens next, this has already been a great tournament for Donna. She has just doubled her professional points total as well

If Donna earns a ranking point at another tournament before September (when one of her two points drops off) she'll get a ranking!

Excellent result for Donna!

Especially to come back like that is impressive!

Glad she finished it before wind, showers and thunderstorms.
Wind is so strong here that it kicked some tiles from roof of my house!

Really amazing and she had to qualify to do it

I really hope she starts to play less soon because she's so young and I don't know if playing so much is the best for her. I know I wouldn't do that if I was someone in her team. But I'm not

Take some rest and GL in R2

i don't think she plays too much. 2 tournaments in one month is ok. btw, amazing week for her.

In 2 nd round Donna will play against Jana Jandova.She is 6 years older than Donna,741 st on the WTA ranking.Jana Jandova in 1 st round won against #6 seeded Barbara Sobaszkiewicz who is also 6 yeras older than Donna but #512 on WTA ranking list.That is maybe better for Donna but Jandova will be extremely difficult to beat.

Also is good to mention,# 2 seeded Julia Mayr loose in 1st round so if Donna win in the 2nd round she will not have to play against her in 3rd round.But we will see what will happen.
