I realize this is a bit off-topic, but I am new and can't start a new thread and this is as close as I can find.

I am wondering, what is the average service advantage in tennis? In other words, how often does the server win the point? I realize that this will depend on things like whether it is the first or second serve, but I am just wondering about overall? I'm sure it will be different for the men's side versus the women's side, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were dependent on the tour level - it is probably higher in the elites than on the lower level.

Any info on this would be appreciated. Thanks

Given your list of points on first serve, which range from 80 - 65%, and assuming the second serve has less of an advantage, I would figure that 55 - 60% would be reasonable, but don't know.

So I checked the women's bracket for the Australian Open. The server won 55.6% of the points if you count all matches. It is a little lower in qualifying, more like 55.0% or so, and probably around 55.8% for the actual tournament.

That is consistent with what I would expect, with a slightly lower advantage for lower levels of play.

I haven't done the men (don't know if I will), but I would suspect it will probably be closer to 60%.
