Re: Shahar's 2010 Cheering Thread
I'm not a fan of Shahar, but I think it's great how she is reacting to the protesters. And the protestors are really retarded because the more they protest, the more motivated Shahar is to win, and that Minto guy is really dumb, it's not like Peer had a choice to be in the military
Way to go, Shahar!

Re: Shahar's 2010 Cheering Thread
im crushed. she had so many chances that she wasted. im very proud of her result but i really think she could've won this in 3. but oh well, just have to forget about this and be happy with a SF result and move on. great week overall for shahar.

Re: Shahar's 2010 Cheering Thread
Somewhat uncharacteristically, I'm not. I'm sure I'd have take the SF loss to Lisicki much tougher, had I seen it live.
I thought before the match it was a 50-50 match between two players of similar level (about #15-#25; Wickmayer is where she's at thanks to a dream draw in the USO, I don't see her breaking into the top 10, but can't see Shahar doing that either) and contrasting styles, and I still do.
Yeah there were wasted opportunities and I also think she could have won in 3, but also lose in 3. As said in GM, those annoying DFs were pretty much the difference, more because of their crucial timing than sheer number (6).
Overall a good, solid tournament that continues the positive trend of the last hardcourt season.
I'm more curious to see Shahar in the AO.

Re: Shahar's 2010 Cheering Thread
Agreed, Shahar will have off serving days, specially when she is under extra pressure.
Today was one of them. Even without good serving she kept it competitive, where previously it would have been 1-6 2-6.
Good turny, on to AO?

Re: Shahar's 2010 Cheering Thread
Shahar def. Dokic 6-2, 6-2
Things to work on:
1. Getting first serves in
2. Converting BP's (in the second game of the second set Shahar was up 0-40 on Dokic's serve and lost and Dokic was serving awful the whole match)
a win is a win and she's through to another QF. Kadima Shahar!!
