Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Oh yeah. The thing I hated most about 7's coverage: how when an Aussie was playing they had a flag next to their name but none of the international players had their flag. So it's like players are either "Australian" or "Other". So lame.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Bruce and Sandy are just play-by-play commentators, I don't think they're crappy...I just think seven are somewhat archaic in their commentating view points. Play-by-play is fairly unnecessary considering colour commentators such as Sam/Renae or Lleyton/Jim could easily fill in that role.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Does anyone know if Tennis will be on Eurosport next year in Australia?
There is a thread about it in GM, but I can't be bothered going through 600 posts to try and find out
Would suck if we don't get the WTA Eurosport coverage next year.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
No idea, really frustating situation, something like when is your sport on Tv shouldn't be hard to find. we probably won't know for a little while considering the early events are in australia and they are shown on FTA anyway.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Yeah it wouldn't affect the first month of the season. But if Eurosport aren't covering it anymore that's about a 80% drop in WTA coverage for the year

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Looks like Seven (well, 7Two) will be showing the first day of play in Brisbane on that first Sunday, they haven't done so in previous years.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Finally, they always put good matches on Sunday and for some reason never showed it. Good decision.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
Im so pissed off with the whole Eurosport thing. All the Aussie events will still be shown but the rest of the year? Foxtel has the Grand Slams and shows the occasional WTA tournament but usually only the Final, or sometimes SF and F. I'm going to miss ES coverage

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
^^
Apparently Eurosport won't be airing any coverage of WTA events (mainly Premier level events) as of the start of 2013 due it's broadcasting contract not being extended. Here is a link to the thread about it if you are interested.

Such a shame.
Anyway I'm really pleased about the BI 1st Sunday coverage With the field of players this year, rightfully so.

Re: AUS TV - 2011 Coverage
The hope is that Fox Sports picks up the slack. I won't hold my breath but they do have plenty of room in their lineup for it.
