Re: Dexter
I haven't seen any of Season 4 and only like half of Season 3. I love this show and was addicted the first two seasons but lost track when my cable went off.

Re: Dexter
A friend of mine told me to watch this and I really respect her opinion because she's got good taste and she's really into her entertainment but I've skipped because I really just don't like the genre.
Maybe I'll watch an episode one day.

Give it a try Sam-you won't regret it! Dexter is simply the bomb. It can veer from frightening to funny in a heartbeat, makes you question your beliefs and value system, and it's totally unique. There is no better combination of entertainment and "thinking person's" show on American TV.
Trust me-odds are you'll like it.

Re: Dexter
Favorite Seasons: 1,2, and 4. I can't decide between Season 2 and 4 for my favorites, so it is between those 2. As Debra Morgan would say, season 3 can go fuck itself as far as I am concerned.
My favorite characters.......
Dexter...lead character that drives the story.
Cody...Just love the little man and his immediate connection with Dexter.
Sgt. Doakes...I consider him the only true cop in the force as he is the only one to recognize Dexter's dark passenger.
Maria Laguerta... Sometimes I fall on and off the love train with her. Some of her decisions are ridiculous but I think that overall she is a good character.
Lila...She brought the crazy and I still say that Dexter and her would or could be good together, but he had to stay with the other one.
Least Favorites
Debra Morgan... Needy, whiny, foul-mouthed girl with some serious daddy issue. If not for Dexter, she would still be working the streets as a vice officer. My friend is convinced that there is some serious bad juju in her punani.....as anyone who gets to know her carnally ends up dead or mutilated.
Miguel Prado...of all the villains I liked him the least. I wish I could wipe all the suckage of the 3rd season out of my mind and pretend it did not happen....especially after the great fourth season.
......One of my most hated characters recently died....wink, wink. Again, whiny and needy.

Re: Dexter
OMG I love Deb!! She was absolutely amazing in Season 4, I love Jennifer Carpenter.
Masuka is probably my 2nd favorite
The only character I couldn't stand was Miguel Prado... I feel like most of Season 3 was just slightly off and misguided. I feel like they accomplished everything with John Lithgow in Season 4 for what they tried to do in S3 with Jimmy Smits.
Season One is still my favorite, but two and four are just a hairline behind. 3 sucked until the last third.

Re: Dexter
Fave Characters:
1) Debra Morgan - I know she's needy and whiny and foul mouthed as hell, but that's precisely why I love her. I like it because she wants to be a hard-ass, but is really soft hearted.
2) Dexter Morgan - Well, how can you not love Dex. I think that Michael Hall is a terrific actor, with his subtle expression changes.
3) Anton - He is gaw-jus.
4) Lila - She is gaw-jus and just demented.
Faves, but not the top faves:
1) Maria Laguerta - I fell for her when the kid fell for her (you know, the one who ended up picturing Jesus as the one who saved him)
2) Masuka - He is so vile, I love it!
3) Rita - She's gaw-jus.
Do not like:
1) Doakes - He was just plain irritating. True cop or not, he pissed me off.
2) Miguel Prado - I cant believe Dexter was so taken in by him, I felt that it was very out of character for Dex.
3) Lundy - Boring old fart.
4) Dexter/Debra's dad - Meh. But his presense is crucial.

That's what I thought at first as well. I mean, I'm a girly girl and I like shows like Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Better (you get thepicture). Anything that requires me to think with my head and not heart is generally deemed as boring. However, when I was out searching for pirated box sets (which I get for 4 ringgit (1USD) ) I couldn't find anything except Dexter so I was like "ugh, fine. I'll give this a shot). And I'm totally in love with it!
