Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
Petra won 7-5,6-4 over Giral Lores to face Elizabeth Lumpkin, which is winnable, for a spot in a 50k QF
did they say that Petra was a pro tennis player on Slovenia's got talent?

Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
Awesome result for her, which should cause a nice little bump in the rankings. I think this must be her best result since that Rockford final in 2003 or so.
One more step Petra!

Nope, they didn't. I don't watch every episode so I'm not sure if he performed in the SF yet, but when I saw him in the previous round I was sure he's her father. They look very alike

Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
News: There are a few Slovene teenage girls competing at 10k tournaments in Europe obviously making use of Summer school break - Maša Šmic(17) and Tjaša Šrimpf(16) both scored a few wins, but not enough to make it to the WTA list. Jelena Durišič who started competing 5 years ago as a 16yo girl is also back after 3 years break and already reached a doubles final in Serbia and also scored a few Q wins. Hopefully all these girls play even more tournaments

Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
Nastja Kolar won a match in Monteroni 25k before falling to Elisa Balsamo in 2 tight sets. Hopefully she plays a few more tournaments in order to get her ranking in the top 600 or so.

Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
The final 2010 WTA rankings will come out on Monday when I'll post the ranking of the Slovene girls.
Most notable achievements of the recent months. Jakupovic has returned back to top 400, Anja Prislan had very solid reults at the end of the year and moves to around her career best in the top 700.

Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
I just realized. Out of that awesome generation of Slovenian girls born in the years 80 and 81, Petra Rampre is the last one standing and still competing in singles Katarina Srebotnik, Tina Pisnik, Maja Matevzic, Tina Hergold, Petra Rampre, Nives Culum and Tina Hojnik won all 3 possible Junior World Team Championships in the categories U-14(1995), U-16(1996) and U-18(1997). The first 3 made it to the top 100 in singles and doubles, Rampre to top 100 in doubles, the rest dropped out due to injuries. Now we're seeing the swan song of this generation

Petra Rampre just made a final on 50k in Relaigh beating Stevenson, Babos, Muhammed and Boserup.
She will play Giorgi in the final, good luck

Re: Other Slovene girls - introductions and results
I was there... and she won 6-3, 6-2.
Apparently she's a favorite here after playing in this tournament so many times... so it was good to see her win.
