Mavericks winning the NBA title is even worse then Dementieva winning a slam

Only the best playoffs ever and perhaps the greatest playoff performance of all time.

Instead of complaining, NBA fans everywhere should be thanking Dirk for his continued legendary excellence. He saved the NBA.

And if you need a joke go look at the Spurs roster.

Because this is what you'll be seeing in your box scores next season:

Quote:
Tim Duncan - DNP (Deceased)

Also: The playoffs stopped being your concern in May... ZBo took care of that for you when he danced all over Lil’ Timmie’s rotting corpse. Now please respect the best team in Texas the world and the clutchest player in the NBA aka your betters.

DEAL WITH IT. [/trashtalk]

Re: The Masha/Sasha/Nets Thread

Seriously though, one of the reasons the celebration was low key is because they won it on the road and Miami decided to play no music and that there would be no confetti. DWhistle even bragged about it before the game. Compare that to how classy the Mavs were in 2006 in the same situation.

No matter. Justice was served. I will never complain about 2006 ever again. It was my worst sports memory and this made up for it x1,000,000. Now when I think about that series I just laugh. So happy for Dirk, JET, TC, Matrix, Peja, JJ, Cardinal, Caron, Cubes... even Kidd and Stevenson. All those guys have been on the wrong end of the stick so many times, so many disappointments. Especially, especially Dirk who was wrongly maligned for so many years. I don’t have to defend him anymore, everyone suddenly agrees with me. Kind of annoying and kind of amazing. Finally champions...

Now back to the Mavs championship parade and celebration.

The MVP is on the stage now...

In that entire troll post that’s the statement that annoyed you? Not calling Duncan a "rotting corpse," but that?

I thought that was the least offensive sentence. It was an historically great playoff run. Check the stats across the board. For instance:
  • Name another 40+ pt 93% TS% performance in playoff NBA history. It was most efficient 40+ game in the history of the league.
  • Or another player who had a minimum of 2 game winning shots in the Finals
  • Or the other two players who averaged +10pts in the 4Q during the Finals
  • Or another player went 45 for 46 from the line in the Finals (and the one he missed was during the fever game)
  • Or had a 6 game multiple series stretch where they averaged 30pts & 9 rbs on 63% FG, 67% 3PT, 98% FT. (You won’t find it because no one else has ever done it.)
  • Or lead a team to at least 7 (off the top of my head) 4th quarter comebacks
  • Or logged a 194.8 (FG+3PT+FT) while averaging 28 and 8 on the way to title (180 is the benchmark for a pure shooter. 194.8? Out of this world.)

And he had to go through Kobe, Gasol, Durant, Westbrook, Lebron, Wade & Bosh on the way to a title… all while being the lone All-Star on Mavs roster.

Taking surrounding talent into consideration, the only real comparable individual performances are Hakeem’s (first title), Barry’s and Duncan’s ‘03 and even those guys didn’t have the amazing TS% performances, comebacks, 4thQ's that Dirk did. (Ofc the TS% is not really fair to Barry since he did it pre 3 PT line.)
