Why are there ropes coming down at Doha from all sides??
Is anyone watching this??
Are they turning it into an acrobatics ring??
Is the presenter gonna pop out from the sky?

Yep. Pretty much. Over-the-top yet again. These new tournaments that offer horrible quality tennis but huge checks (also Beijing) are trying to prove themselves with theatrical yet idiotic trophy ceremonies. It's all show.
Whatever, tradition counts for so much more. People know NYC and MSG as a historical location of GOOD year-end indoor tennis. Fuck Doha.

come on, at least that was worth a good laugh. i had to rewind it and watch it a few times because it as so stupid. my mom said "those people are such hypocrites - they make the woman cover themselves, then have half dressed girls dangle from ropes".

Leo, i agree - they need to come back to MSG. I was there for the Sampras/Federer exho. a few years ago, and new yorkers love their tennis. the atmosphere was awesome, and it was just an exhibition. I'm surprised Emperor Bloomberg hasn't made it his agenda to get it back here..
