Michelle and Vanessa shouldnt even be in the poll. Vanessa had an injury and retired in almost every competition. Naide Gomes, even far from her 2008, was one of the best of 2009 long jumpers, so if i had to decide it would be between Naide Gomes and Telma Monteiro.

ughh i thought Portugal didn't have any woman doing better than miss de Brito, so it seemed pretty bad.
I voted for Joana Vasconcelos. Her results seem great
- World Champion in K1 500m Track
- European Champion in the K1 500m Track
- Vicecampeã Track World Cup in K1 1000m
- Bronze Medal at European Championships in K1 1000m Track |

I would have liked to vote for a tennis player and if Neuza Silva was among the selections I would have happily voted for her but as she's not I selected Vanessa Fernandes. Being World Triathalon champion sounds good to me.

she's made no progress at all in the last year and if anything is going downhill. I appreciate Portugal isn't awash with champions but they do have much better athletes with much greater achievements.
