Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
Sachie has entered some Mexican tournaments next (including a 10k), she played well in Mexico in juniors so hopefully it will bring her luck .
I'm not too concerned by the recent losses, just want her to get into good form before the busy Asian ITF season in April and May.

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
From what I watched of her, her defense improved. I think that video was early last year & I saw her later in the year at the YOG. The problem with her defense I feel is not that she's not quick enough, but she has a tendency to want to hit too good a shot out of a ball she should just loop it back or slice. Either that, or just like what's in the video she just dosn't know how to "push" a ball back.
Quite the exact opposite of her opponent Kremen who beat her in the first round of the YOG who is an excellent defender but can hardly attack.

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
Sachie has another tough draw in Irapuato against Bianca Botto.
Good luck

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
Sachie Ishizu (JPN) d. Bianca Botto (PER) 63 36 63
Next up is Julia Cohen. Quite winnable for Sachie, imo.

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
Hope its just fatigue and not some injury, I really expect Sachie to make a move into the top 200 possibly play GS qualies by this season.

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
Maybe, she retired due to an old ankle injury.
She goes to Tsukuba University in the spring of this year.
So,it is difficult to enter Top 200 this year.

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
She's going to university? So she isn't going to play many/any pro tournaments?

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
She wants to become a teacher at the high school.
So, it is necessary for her to earn a lot of credits.

Re: Sachie Ishizu Thread!
I guess she wouldn't be playing pros full time then... well at least not for the next 2-3 years.

Gifu 50k 1st round Double
(1)Aoyama/Fujiwara (JPN/JPN) v Ishizu/Lykina (JPN/RUS)
It seems she's still playing tennis
