Re: Suggestions for a 10 day stay in Manchester
Depends what you'd like to do.
There are 3 theatres showing different types of shows, The Opera House, The Palace Theatre and then the Lowry centre. Theres quite a few museums and art galleries dotted around the place. Theres a good museum in the uni campus lots of good biological stuff if you're into that.
Pleanty of shops for shopping and bars and stuff if you like drinking.

Re: Suggestions for a 10 day stay in Manchester
Not more than 2 hours I believe.
If you're in the North, you should go to York. York is a nice city .
I think you catch the Manchester Airport - Scarborough train from either the Airport or Manchester Picadilly.

Re: Suggestions for a 10 day stay in Manchester
I think its around 2 to 2 and a half hours to London.
I've lived in Manchester for 5 years on and off for Uni and i really like it. London on the other hand is horrible, too big.

Re: Suggestions for a 10 day stay in Manchester
Try to get a ticket for the greatest football team on earth, Manchester City!
There are also beautiful National parks within daytrip distance, (Peak District, Lake District) maybe go on a guided tour? Liverpool would be worth a daytrip too...
