You get more points than if you would have lost Day 10, but less points than if you would have lost Day 11.
In other words, if you have noone to pick - 1400 points, if you picked the losing player - 1600 points, and if you picked the winning player - 2000 points.

Question: Can I choose someone as my pick that I've used previously only as a back-up and who obviously at that time didn't come into play as my pick won?

You can reuse backups, as long as they were never used, I think.

day 11 no pick = 900
day 11 invalid pick = 1100
day 12 no pick = 1400 etc See post 1
