even if i had the best voice in the world, i'd never say i could sing..for the simple fact that 'i can sing' usually makes people want to say..no you can't, and it's such a subjective thing.

Similar situation here. I've been singing for most of my life, in theatre productions (when I was younger), with a band, lessons of course.
Not nearly as good as Shuji Shurikenm, but as Alize Molik said it's a subjective thing.

Is that before or after Charlotte Church decided to sing a song called I Love It When You Call My Name?
Actually that is one of my favorite songs to sing in knee-high length boots and metallic short shorts.
Usually when I do sing it, the guys tell me that I have plenty of conviction in my voice.
I think that's good.
