A steamy gay encounter between two characters on the AMC drama Mad Men caused what appears to be the show's first complaint from the conservative Parents Television Council, reports Time magazine TV critic James Poniewozik.
The PTC, an advocacy organization that monitors the entertainment industry, said that the season 3 premiere of Mad Men on Sunday received a TV-14 rating when it should have been rated for mature audiences only. The first charge in their complaint cites a scene between closeted gay character Salvatore Romano, played by out actor Bryan Batt, and a bellhop.
According to the PTC’s complaint, “The basic cable episode contained a shot of a character’s hand going down into the underwear of another character for sexual stimulation, a half-naked woman whose hands covered her breasts just before insinuating that she had sex with another character, and a graphic scene with a prostitute that repeats several times, 'I’m gonna cut your dick off and boil it in hog fat.'”
The season 3 premiere achieved the highest ratings ever for Mad Men, at 2.8 million viewers, an increase of one third over last season’s premiere.

Especially in suburbia, geezus, they are the worst kids. When i was up in Canada, in a small town of 3,000 all the teenagers did there (and I'm talking kids from 14-17) were hang out in front of the supermarket, do drugs, drink and have sex. I know this because this drunk ass girl wearing short shorts and a sports bra who was 16 told me, thats all they did lol.
Where are parents then? So worried over what they see on tv(which is nothing), compared to what their own kids probably are actually doing.
seriously, everyone I know claims this is the best, most well written show on television. i'm getting ready to order the box set of the first two seasons from netflix.

I was so happy to finally see the first gay kiss scene this Season! It doesn't surprise me that the conservatives would be offended by this, and of course they use the kids and the reason why. There are far more graphic hereto-sexual scenes on this show!

In their defense, that statement doesn't single out homosexual behavior, so I don't think the title is appropriate.
It just seems a little too coincidental that, in 27 episodes full of sexuality, Mad Men has never received a single complaint from the PTC until they showed an episode with a gay kiss.
I don't have a problem with these sorts of people as long as they're consistant.
There has never been a problem with the first two seasons, which had plenty of sex scenes. Only this episode which has the first homosexual sex scene. And they have a problem with them saying dick, but if they would have said tits I'm sure it wouldn't have had the same kind of response.
