See that now, but last night there was no number next to this other defeated team in the semis, so I assumed they were unseeded, must've been some mistake by the ITF webmasters.

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Good job Ani, now take the singles too! Next up is the 3rd seed Ozga (c-h #259, currently #368), against whom Ani never played. Sounds like she could win, but we'll see what happens.
Best of luck Ani!

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
great week for ani! it's not worth a lot of points, but she had some good wins this week and didn't lose a set in singles or doubles!

You're right. This week is not about the points, it's about a form she found and match play that she got out of it. Much more important right now for her. Hope she continues on in the coming weeks.
I'm a bit puzzled by her plans though, she's on no ITF entry list for the next two weeks, and there aren't any weak WTA's in which she could maybe play qualies for at least another month...

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Even without last week's points, Ani is back into top400! Today she skyrocketed from 403 to 399!!! (trying to be funny, sorry, couldn't resist)

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Ani's latest points have been added, so she jumps 19 spots up to #380 in singles, as well as 38 spots up to #529 in doubles. Still not much of a ranking, but the important thing is that she's finally finding some form.

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Ani is playing qualies this weekend at the $25K in China. In QR1 she beat Nutella DZALAMIDZE (692) 62 62; and in QR2, an unranked local player by the same score. Unfortunately, in FQR she has run into the #2 seed, Majeric. Best of luck, Ani!

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
She didn't make it against Majeric in the end, but it was a good result (6:4, 7:6), considering that Majeric is #254, which is just 21 spots lower than her best ever ranking. A bit of a tough luck with the draw.

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Another weekend, another qualies for Ani, this time in a 50k (also in China). Her QR1 opponent will be Zhou, a local 20 y.o. player ranked close to her best ever ranking of 600-something. The draw seems a little bit better for Ani this time, hope she makes it through.
Good luck Ani!

Ani over Zhou 64 61
Next is the #6 seed, Kapshay. Good luck, Ani!

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Mijacika def. (6) Kapshay 6:1, 7:5
The last hurdle is Doroteja Eric, who's currently very close to her best ever ranking, but still only at #478. Ani should win, but you never know.
Ajmo!

Re: Ani Mijacika cheering thread
Eric also went down, it was 6:2, 7:5
Ani got a fairly decent main draw placement, against Kalashnikova (#196, c-h 156). They've never played eachother and this girl isn't in some crazy form lately, although she did reach QF at her last event (25k). This is only her fifth tournament this season (w-l record 4:4), and her biggest win came last week against Lu (#195) in three sets. The lowest ranked player to beat her this year was outside the top500, so I think Ani has a shot if she plays like in the qualies.
Go get her Ani
