Not surprising but still a very good win. With this, Ani will move up to a new career-high ranking of ~295-300.
In R2 she plays Anna TATISHVILI (#178; #4 seed; #150 career-high). It'll be very tough; in R1 Tatishvili demolished former world #32 Olga PUCHKOVA, 61 62. On the other hand, she lost to both Mirjana and Ajla in September, so perhaps Ani can beat her too.

That's excellent news! With this, Ani will move up to a new career-high ranking of ~290-295.
In the QF she plays a qualifier, Jacqueline Cako (#633, career-high #577). If Ani can beat Tatishvili, she should be able to beat Cako, though Cako appears to be playing well this week (she beat Tomljanovic in straight sets in qualies).
