Which WTA players drink alcoholic beverages?
This may be a growing problem on the tour that could be as detrimental as abusing drugs.
A few of the known drinkers are Capriti, a heavy drinker, Kournikova, Hingis, Davenport and Mauresmo, who maintains the French tradition of drinking wines.
Added to this group are Raymond, mentioned she drank in college, Seles has been know to drink beer and Dokic has plenty of acces to booze, though I hope that maybe because of dad she will not over indulge in the drinking habit.

Phillipousis was plastered at the player's party after he was outted at the AussieOpen  ...Patricia Wartusch smoked cigarettes and drank, alot of the lower key players do but i guess it doesn't make too much difference with them

Iva Majoli likes to party so dont forget her! But there is nothing wrong I think if you have 1 or 2 drinks socially and are 17+ or - and you are responsible. 21 is silly. Nobody in the USA waits that long to drink.

I think I read Marat Safin drinks a bit, but not too much as well
wow I didn't know Monica drinks, but I am sure a few social drinks doesn't hurt

Yes Marat drinks for sure, and I'm pretty sure 90% or more of both tours. Of course all in moderation. I'm sure none of them are alcoholics

NONE of them? haha yeah right..out of approx 2000 cumulative pro tennis players im sure there's a fair few with a substance abuse problem

The Great Conchi is a known heavy smoker and drinker.
And womanizer as well. 
Chris Ba should be on the tour because he is usually plastered, especially when he is posting on this board.

but u really need to define what a drinker is...
as for marat i personally have seen him have "a" beer at the melbourne casino. but i dount he is a heavy drinker, he is a muslim after all. |

Here is a few of the girls at a dinner having drinks, but that doesn't mean that they do it very often, and I'm pretty sure that it's not to the point of intoxication. They look like they are being responsible and having fun. |
