WTA Rankings: Biggest jumper / highest debut?
Was looking through this week's new WTA rankings and I was curious to see if anyone knew certain ranking questions:
1. What's some of the biggest jumps you've seen in the rankings?
2. Who has one of the highest (if not the highest) debuts/re-entries on the WTA rankings after 3 events? I know that Mirjana Lucic had quite the ranking debut back in the day...
I'm a bit of a stats geek so I'll appreciate any information people can provide

Re: WTA Rankings: Biggest jumper / highest debut?
I would imagine Hingis had some pretty jumps in the rankings when she made her comeback. Also perhaps Clijsters when she made her comeback from injury and won the IW/Miami double?

Re: WTA Rankings: Biggest jumper / highest debut?
Best Ranking Debuts:
1. Andrea Jaeger No.19 (Feb 1980)
2. Tracy Austin No.21 (Jul 1977)
2. Renee Richards No.21 (Oct 1977)
4. Pam Shriver No.24 (Apr 1978)
5. Jennifer Capriati No.25 (Apr 1990)
6. Kathy Jordan No.28 (Jan 1979)
7. Zina Garrison No.29 (Jul 1982)
7. Andrea Leand No.29 (Feb 1982)
9. Anne Smith No.32 (Mar 1978)
I'm not sure that's what your looking for though because it used be something like you had to play 6 tournaments before you got a ranking.

Re: WTA Rankings: Biggest jumper / highest debut?
I couldn't found the ranking of Angelica Gavaldon (MEX) who arrives to QF in Australian Open in 1990 in her GS debut with 16 years old.
In 1995 she plays the qualy from Australian Open and came to QF once more.
I don't know the ranking befor and after but I think the jump were really big!

The biggest jumper I think is Alexandra Dulgheru in the Warsaw week. I remember a jump of 150/200 position, is it true?

That one is absolutely the most impressive one. No doubt about it.
She entered (and won) Indian Wells as #133 in March and by October she would play (and win) Hasselt as world #2 already
Amazing is an adjective that falls short here

Didn't Sue Barker debut at 24?
