"Unfortunate" Wimbledon Site Profile Pics
I was looking through the Wimbledon site and clicking player profiles. They are using lots of "action" photos "courtesy of the FFT" (not the WTA Tour site photos) for some reason. This would be fine, but some of the pictures are almost amusingly bad, and certainly aren't doing anything "courteous" for the players! Seriously is this the best they could do?
Some of the "veterans" like Tamarine and Rossana have tons of GREAT action pictures out there. For action shots I am not expecting glamour shots, but then for some players they do use the WTA pictures. (Biggest differences - Rybarikova, Tanasugarn & Groenefeld). Anyway check them out... especially the first one.

Rossana De Los Rios http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta040148.html
Agnes Szavay http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta311872.html
Vania King http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta311550.html
Tathiana Garbin http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta030348.html
Julie Coin http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta030548.html
Yanina Wickmayer http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta312536.html
Karolina Sprem http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta190881.html
Magdalena Rybarikova http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta312580.html
Anna-Lena Groenefeld http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/playe...wta310318.html
Tamarine Tanasugarn

Still others have no picture, even though they have ones on the WTA site (Julia Goerges, Sabine Lisicki, Patricia Mayr).

BWAH! Funny thread. I've often marveled at how lazy the WTA site is about updating their pics (or in some cases, bothering to take/find one at all). Tournaments often rely on those. That said, Wimby appears to be dreadful without their "help".

I didn't include Suarez Navarro because the WTA site picture wasn't THAT different - it was somewhat nicer, sure. I haven't seen her play before...

Some of these photos are hilarious!
It's the fact that they are cropped that makes them so outrageous.
The page and format is begging for a studio portrait and instead we have these horror film (victim and attacker) shots.
Lourdes looks like her eyes are going to pop out of her head.
Agnes looks like she's getting an electric shock.
Garbin looks like she's about to
Rybarikova looks challenged.
But far and away my favorites are King, who is imitating the smilie...and ALG:
