I think I look to You is definitely a grower, and I like it a lot more than Strength.

I don't think you can call what Whitney does covers; as every single 'cover' she has done, has been an improvement on the original.

Wow it is really awful.
Her voice sounds like crap in this one. Very hoarse and raspy. The only remotely catchy part are the O's. Thats it...Really? O's is all you can do? Plus this sounds too old for radio. Flop.
So far 3 lackluster songs. This one is the biggest disappointment since she worked with Alicia Keys.

Re: Whitney Houston: Million Dollar Bill- BRAND NEW SONG!!! (see first post)
All the hype on this song and it isn't that great. It certainly makes you want to tap your feet to the beat and clap along. I can see how it got everyone jamming at the listening party but that does NOT translate to big radio play or huge sales for the single. The album will sell huge on her name alone but after the first month or two it will take the singles to keep it going and this wont do it. Is it really only 2:51 in length? It only really has a verse and then chorus and bridge followed by chorus. Weird construction. I see this doing well on Urban but I don't think it will do well on Pop except for the curiosity spins it gets out of the gate.

Cool song but I Look To You is STILL the song for me. I love the words plus those warm, passionate vocals just take it over the top for me. Whitney & a ballad will always equal genius for me. Sang Whit!!!

I never said I don't like it! I just don't think it lives up to the insane hype it got. This song was being touted as THE jam. Whitney's ultimate comeback single. It simply isn't, IMO. I still like the song, though.

The song hasn't been hyped up insanely Name me one person who has called it Whitney's ultimate comeback single - it's a comeback single and it's not even the lead single. It is a good upbeat song...no it's not the next I Wanna Dance with Somebody or even the next Exhale. Perhaps you had higher expectations for it - but I don't think it has been generall hyped up, not outside of this thread at least

I think he is referring to some of the reviews the song got from the listening parties.

The song sounds okay. I expect I'll like it because I like her but she sounds a shadow of herself.
Maybe I need to listen to some of the other songs.

There is more than one review of the listening parties that stated this song was so good that nearly the entire room got up and began dancing. Come on now....that is huge hype to live up to. These listening parties arent comprised of a bunch of 20 somethings so for the entire room to be up dancing makes it seem like some massive hit in the making. I suppose I should have known, if the song got an entire room of 50 somethings up dancing then it wont be my cup of tea nor pop radios.
