I know, there are so many people asking me the same question ! Yes, I was 23rd in the world and now I’m about 80th. I got a serious heel injury that kept me away for three months, my foot was in a cast for a month and a half. It actually took me six months to feel comfortable again with my foot. I tried to come back too early because I had a lot of points to defend but I hadn’t fully recovered, I didn’t trust my running abilities because of my injury and sometimes I hesitated before going for the ball if I had to run. It’s hard to deal with all that and the pressure when you’re 19 or 20, you don’t know what to do. Some wrong decisions and bad scheduling were made by my team and me. This led to where I am right now, but this is tennis, that’s what happens sometimes. But I’m learning, you know, I’m still young and I think there’ s a reason why this happened. I want to get better of course, but this time I will do it slowly, I’ll be patient. I’ll use all that in the future, I now know how important it is to be healthy. That’s what allows you to do what you want to do, in tennis but also in life in general

It was definitely a serious injury which caused her break down last year, but it's of course not the only explanation, as she said she couldn't deal with the pressure at that time and the pressure in Romania is huge (and she tended to flee into her own bright VIP world to distract herself, maybe even forgot what her job is)!
Then she has ever been a streaky and rather inconsistent player to begin with. even in 2009 + sometimes she just plays a dumb all hitting game. Her tactics are messed up and I assume that the lack of a real coach is indeed the biggest reason for her downfall..

Re: Sorana News And Articles
Sorana gave an interview with the Romanian sports magazine pro sport. Her main statements:
"I trained at midnight in a handball hall, on the floor. The success came from the hunger for results. Not everyone can play tennis, because it is an expensive sport. In Romania we don't have the conditions so I had to make more more efforts than girls from other countries.
I wish to attend the Olympics, I hope to be present there, but for us tennisplayers, Olympics is not as important. We have 4 big Grand Slams. The most difficult opponent I have met are the Williams sisters because they dominate you, "said Sorana Cirstea at the ProSport.

Re: Sorana News And Articles
It does make you wonder why tennis has been included as an Olympic sport - but no doubt there will be players that would love to win a medal. But Sorana is right, for a pro tennis player, the Slams are most important.

Sorana Carstea will make a contemporary dance for charity
The show will also be broadcast live on voyo.ro! Sorana Carstea is ready to conquer the "Dansez pentru tine" dance floor on Friday, from 20.30 (E.E.T.) on Pro TV.
It will make a splash in front of Pro TV viewers with a contemporary dance together with Corina Caragea's former partner from the last season of "Dansez pentru tine". Along with Stefan Gheroghiu, Sorana Carstea will dance for a humanitarian cause on the song "Teardrop" by Massive Attack with a choreography signed by Caprioara. For the Friday night, the tennis player already repeated 4 days, ie Monday, 3-4 hours a day and choreographer said she's doing well:
"You see that she is sporty, because she has a discipline that does not meet very often to others during training. I really believe they are doing very well and will make a nice dance on Friday. "Sorana dance teacher says.
Teams will be competing Friday night in a unique edition, as one of dance styles will be a folk/popular dance competition ... in the rain. So besides the difficult dances designed by specialist in folklore, Mr. Marin Barbu, it will difficult for the competitors to move in drops of rain which will invade the dancefloor.
The second style of dance of the evening is chosen by the competitors but will have the common theme "street festival/party". At the beginning, the last season winner of the show, Edi Basil, will show the jury and the public what a real street dance with one of its younger sisters. Dance floor will vibrate agreements jerky and brutal movements, but full of sex appeal, so that each pair will have to show that has pace street in the blood and can adapt styles imposed....

(Google translate)
Great player, with soul and more. This is Sorana Cirstea, who has dedicated half of the end of competitive holiday to participate in the popular humanitarian issue "Dancing" on PRO TV. Tennis player will be paired tonight with Stefan Gheorghiu, Corina Caragea former partner from last season of the show presented by Stefan Banica jr.
"I was very happy when I found that I get to participate in this program. For a long time I wanted to get the ring from the 'Dancing'" confesses Sorana before entering the rehearsal room. Equipped sporty stance tennis player enters with her partner, Stephen, in a room with white walls, large mirrors and windows steaming heat emanating from calorifele. "I'm less stressed. I feel best on the tennis court. Hall Ballet is something else. On the way into rehearsals, repeat steps taught to mind the day before," says Sorana, after which the heating with her partner, Stefan. After two to three minutes, choreographer Georgiana Caita ("Deer") starts the music. The two quickly fall into rhythm song Teardrop. The steps follow each other with amazing speed, as if dancing is small. The song is requested more than a game of tennis.
A pirouette, a turn and then an outlet. Missing! The two fall, but will immediately receive encouragement. "I have good legs spread? What's wrong?" Asks Sorana. The choreographer explains. Sorana just eyes and ears, while Stephen takes a sip of water. The song begins again. No time to lament. This time out the steps to fix sockets are accurate. The pace is fast. Concentration is maximum. Looks like a Grand Slam final. Sweat appears on the Sorana. Another turn, and then plug end. The song ends. The two receive applause. "No, you have worked well! There's only need a few finishing touches," Georgiana's voice is heard. The decor is prepared. Curtain rises. Follow Banica Jr's famous reply: "Music, maestro!"
