Yulia upset #2 Ons Jabeur, 60 64, to make the main draw. She now faces Kristina Barrois, the #1 qualifier, in the opening round. Barrois leads the h2h, 1-0 (2007 Estoril).

Yulia reached her 7th SF of 2012, after defeating Ganna Piven, 1 & 4. Now 3-0 against her.

She now faces #1 Anastasiya Vasylyeva for a spot in the final. These two are tied 1-all, with Nastiya winning the last match (2009).
