Re: Paula Kania thread
Yeah - and Paula has a sponsor now so she will play 4 more tournament this year - because some companies see potential at her.
And nobody sees it at Martunha

Re: Paula Kania thread
Paula won her 1st match against Chin-Wei Chan 64 63.
It makes her very close to top200 (22 points to her ranking).
She still has to defend 42 points from the last year (Opole final and Bratislava R2).
Next opponent probably Ayumi Morita.

Re: Paula Kania thread
Lost 2-6 2-6 to Morita, but it was the first time I was able to watch her playing during a full match and she has an interesting game
Too many errors today but Morita is really quick on the court, Paula isn't at this level yet.

Re: Paula Kania thread
Yeah - too much errors and Morita was consistent.
Paula commited so many errors because I saw her knee work was not ready for that court (she should have worked on low legs). Good luck in the next tournaments! (Mińsk and Zawada 25ks)

Re: Paula Kania thread
Paula in Polish tennis press said that making ranking for AO quallies is her goal.

You obviously didn't see her playing She hits the ball well but she still has to get used to a higher level of play. She hasn't got so many opportunities to play against top 50-100 players so far, and she will need that matches.
Great season already, anyway

Re: Paula Kania thread
She's not. She's just visiting her friend Polina and wants to win doubles with her friend at her hometown. This is the tournament where she doesn't have to pay for hotel etc. because Polina is hosting her which is good for her wallet
And she needs points to make AO quallies. Marta should follow Paula's footsteps because probably she won't even make the cut.

Re: Paula Kania thread
Kania/Pekhova d. Artamonova/Monova 76(5) 62
Tomorrow against Dzehalevich/Sasnovich
By the way - Paula is treated like a star in Minsk. Both of her today matches were on court with camera and so will tomorrow matches

Well, it's quite normal as she's the 2nd seed in singles and in doubles too with a Belarusian
Great chances to perform well there
