I'm not russian even if you might think so by the flag and my user name,just russophile,I'm very interested in Russia's language and culture,but I'm spanish so answering your question,I don't root for countries in Fed Cup,only if my favourite players are playing it.I don't even root for Spain unless Carla is playing.I admit last year I was rooting strong for Spain in SF,but that was only because I knew the russians would come to play here for the final and I wanted to see them live.
So for the question, it would depend of the situation,if Eleni was playing that Fed Cup final,I'd root for her no matter what russian player she was playing,only exception being Sveta,in that case,I'd enjoy the fight of my 2 faves trying to give their country a win.Same if they faced France and my other big favourite was involved in the tie.But I think it's very difficult this situation happens.Russia and France are in world group,Greece is not.
