Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
Has to be said, that when I first heard Do It Like A Dude I was like - OK, this is interesting.
She automatically captured my attention and couldn't wait to hear more

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
She is quite good and can sing live(hard to believe it's the same woman who wrote "Party in the USA" for Cyrus though )

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
She's not that great a singer actually, but I like "Pricetag".

Really? She has impressive vocal dexterity, better than average range and enough power. I just really hate the tone of her voice and her music.

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
She kind of flopped in the US though. Too bad.
She's also another Lady Gaga I guess. They both can sing, can write, but no one will ever notice them if they sell their music in a 'normal' way, hence the unique fashion, singing and music.

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
So far her singles have all tackled something people can relate to: gender equality, money, and self-confidence.
It sounds cheesy for my liking.
No doubt they are catchy, she has a voice, but she's just next in line of the latest girl pop stars.
Many call her the best newcomer UK has to offer this year. I beg to differ.

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
I don't think her voice in Nobody's perfect is radio-friendly but she's very raw & I like her

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
I like this! I heard nothing but bad things about her, so tbh I never gave her a chance.

huh? her album reached no. 11 and "price tag" no. 4 in the billboard charts. that's pretty good for a british artist's debut, i think.

Re: New Pop Sensation - Jessie J
Well she became Sound of 2011 which is normally a good prospect as other winners like Adele, Mika and Ellie Goulding all had a lot of success, but for me her album sounds a bit dull, I only like the singles so far. She also can't compare to other British talents like Florence, Marina or Coco who all have something special which she lacks IMO.
