I would personally advise a Head or Babolat racquet!

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

i use a yonex RDS 003 2008 version

but we had an old demo of the k-blade team (serena & venus' stick) kicking around at work, so i hit some serves with it and really liked it. the yonex can end up hurting my arm when serving but the k-blade team was amaze

In general, you want to use the heaviest racquet you can swing comfortably.

Heavier racquets tend to be evenly balanced or head light, which means that the weight is concentrated in the handle, not the racquet head.
This makes the heavy racquet easier to swing.
They also absorb more shock from off-center hits (which as a newcomer to tennis you will have a lot of) and so are better for your arm.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

I use the Head Liquidmetal 4, and have for about 2 years. It's very cheap (only about $70) and is an EXCELLENT racquet for mediocre players (not great players, but not beginners either). Also, I string my own racquets, and I've found that this is the easiest racquet I've ever strung (easy specs, good holes, long lasting grommets, etc).

I've demoed a bunch of newer rackets, like the Head Youtek, KFactor, BLX, some Yonex ones... none of them give me the control, consistency, and occassional power that I have with the LM4.

If you're a player looking to step past beginner, and don't want to spend a lot on a racquet, I would recommend this one for sure.

Which stringng machine do you use?

I string my racquets as well and use ATS Super Stringer. It's a drop weight.

Hmm the name is escaping me right now... But it's a Gamma, drop weight, 6 point mounting system with moveable clamps. To begin with it was very tedius, but I can do a racket in about 20-25 minutes now and for the price, I think it's great

Edit: The Gamma Progression II 602, here it is:

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

i use a wilson hammer 3.2 power holes. Yes its an older racquet, but still love it and haven't found one that suits me better.

However, i only have one because my other is cracked. I have been searching every where for another one. Does anyone know where i can buy another one?

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

I still use the Yonex RQiS 1...my Ivanovic-like game really does respond well to that racket. And I haven't just disappeared off the face of the earth either after having a really good result with it either (unlike certain Serbs...haha)

I still use Pure Drive GT. I like it but would like a change. What racquets play similar to the PD GT?
