Oh so that would explain the lack of shiny-ness. I get it now. I think I like the shiny glossy one better.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

Started using this racket (Babolat AeroPro Drive GT, same as Nadal, Tsonga, Schiavone...) about two weeks ago. So far I really like it as it gives me more power and control.

I use a wooden racket
Actually, I use a Babolat Pure Drive from at least 6 years ago.

I started using this racquet as well about 5 months ago. I switched from a Wilson Pro-Staff, the racquet Pete Sampras used which is a completely different racquet.

At first, I had no control at all with the Aeropro Drive. Lots more power, but really hard to control for me, coming from a much lower-powered racquet.
I am only just getting my timing and control with this racquet and it is really good. I get much better depth, I'm hitting with more spin now (this racquet REALLY takes spin).

String this racquet with a good polyester string like tecnifibre black or red, and it is awesome.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

Babolat AeroPro Drive GT since last June.

It really made my forehand better, as i'm able to put more topspin on the ball with this racket. This racket takes a lot of spin with the right string. I also feel i have a lot more control with this racket, than with my old Prince O3.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

Prince O3 Speedport White. I was switching between Head, Dunlop and Babolat raquets before. Since I've gained some weight, I found this one the best for my defensive game.

Re: What tennis racquet do u use?

How do you guys choose a racquet?

I'm still playing with a 102in teardrop oversize racquet I bought 10 years ago as a teenaged junior. I broke a string the other night and played with a demo for the rest of the night, and the difference was so profound I've decided to buy a new one.

I think I want a smaller racquet head. I am not a hard hitter, but I was feeling a lot more in control playing with a smaller racquet which allowed me to go for my shots more and the end result was more power. Aside from that I don't really know what to look for. There are about a thousand different racquets on the wall at the club's pro shop and I don't really know how to distinguish between them.

What should I be looking for in terms of shape, weight, balance, etc?

Hey me too. I had same racquet and I have a wood one too that I love. I want a new racquet now though.

I want 90 head size and one a little heavier. Might look at the Wilson ones.

Any suggestions, anyone?

No idea how heavy it is, there's no markings on the frame.

Playing style: http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost....&postcount=187

Definitely thinking along the lines of a stiffer, slightly heavier midsize racquet. I'm currently trying to find a Volkl 10 Power Bridge Mid to demo.
