D level is close to beginners level, but with some experience.
C level is people that knows where to put the ball, but they have poor shots, volleys and serves (generally speaking )
B level is people that has strong shots but time to time they are doing some "big" mistakes or people that are able to keep a long rallye, but they don't have really good shots.
And A/Open level for me they are really good players, able to play national tournaments in most of the countries. For example the best A/Open players in Ireland are playing at National level (maybe in countries with high tennis level like USA, Spain or France it will be hard to happen )
I don't know your level, but definitely in B, A and Open level you can see really good matches

Re: Is anyone playing on GLTA tour?
Drake1980 told me about this tour, when there's more events in my area, I'll definitely start playing. Probably level C or even D. I'll join all events at D level and become the Smashnova of the GLTA.

Re: Is anyone playing on GLTA tour?
Anyone from the Denver area?
I am thinking of playing this year, I just have been so busy and my serve is so much weaker than the rest of my game...I really need to work it.

I know him, his favourite player is Elena Dementieva. When he makes a winner he shouts 'COME ON ELENA'

Re: Is anyone playing on GLTA tour?
Hey didn't see this thread before. Last weekend, I played my first GLTA event - the Sydney Mardi Gras Tennis Tournament. I had a really great time. Good tennis, lots of nice people, lots of fun. And I played great:
I entered the A grade singles and doubles (with my partner who is about a B grade player).
R1 singles - an easy win 6-2 6-3. That meant that Saturday first up I was playing against a guy who is a minor celebrity - a late night newsreader on national TV in Australia! I had to steel myself to not get nervous but I played well and won 6-3 7-6. (I served for the match at 6-3 5-4 but lost serve and fortunately held it together). Then I had my QF and played about as well as I can play and won 6-2 6-2. By the end I was getting serious cramp. When I was serving for the match my big toe completely cramped and wouldn't undo itself. I had to take my shoe off and straighten my toe with my hand! Luckily the match ended soon after that.
Then I had R1 doubles and we won a close 3-setter. My highlight was serving about 6 aces, all out wide to the deuce court. Never done that before in my life! So that was the end of the Saturday and I was exhausted. It was a hot sunny Sydney day.
So Sunday morning, sore and tired I had my SF. I went up 5-3 in the 1st but ended up losing it in a tiebreak. Then I got it together and won the 2nd easily, 6-2. Then I played another crappy tiebreak and lost the match tiebreak 3-10. Disappointing but it was a great 2-hour marathon. Then we lost our doubles QF 4-6 4-6 (after being up 3-1 in both sets!). Our opponents were a bit rough and I got totally pummelled with a ball from short range when I was at the net. Wasn't happy. The bruise is still there, a week later!
But it was awesome. Then we sat around watching the finals and chatting to heaps of nice ppl. Would definitely go again!
