I love my faves, I really do.

OK, to sum it up:

Irina had a BP in the very first game, failed to convert
Held after being 0-30 down in her first service game, though
got broken for 1-5, after 40-15 + A
broke back at 1-5* after saving 2 Pennetta SPs
just to get broken again to lose the set after 40-0 + 2 x A

5 games to 40; 3 to 30 - 68 points played in 8 games - really a very tight first set. I think that only the experience of Flavia made the difference.

However, this is a brilliant claycourt match so far.

I still think that Begu is the most talented Romanian player (on clay), so clean are her shots, she just goes for too much at times, but otherwise her technique is impeccable.

I can only repeat myself, tons of talent, but her shot selection needs some clean-up.

Even if she should lose this one, no shame, she will get her chances on clay.
