Re: Heather Watson
Hev wins 6-1 3-0 RET. Don't know if it was a sudden injury or had been hampering Babos all match. Anyway hev seemed to be winning the big points, despite facing more break points than Babos she had saved all off them and taken all her chances on the Babos serve.
Sevastova (WR 183 - CH 36 in 2011) up next who came through qualifying and beat Doi 4 & 2 today.

Re: Heather Watson
Won't let me edit my post, anyway Sevastova is currently 182, CH 36 2 years ago. Been in a bit of a slump but getting good results here this week, could be on form having come through qualies.
C'mon Hev!

Re: Heather Watson
Sevastova is so unpredictable, one minute she will lose to like somebody ranked outside of the top 200 then she will comfortably beat a player like Doi....
I'm wary of the challenge seeing as she has won three matches already but I think Hev should and can come through this

She lost in three, 67(4) 64 26.
Shame, but her opponent is unpredictable and when in form can hit through Heather.

Re: Heather Watson
Disappointing Her serve seemed to let her down in the final set. It dropped from 81% to 54% and she only won 47% of points behind it.

Re: Heather Watson
67(4) 64 26 isn't a scoreline to be ashamed of imo. It shows she put up a fight at least.

Yeah her serve let her down in the third set. She also had few chances to break but couldn't do it

Re: Heather Watson
Disappointing result in the end for heather. Yes it was a tricky opponent today and it was a very tight match for most of it, but he does need to be winning these tough matches really. Had 3 break points in the first game of the third set, if she could have just taken one of those.... Equally disjointing that she was broken to love (I think) when serving to stay in the match. Had just broken back, really needed to make sevastova served for it.
Hasn't played that well so far this year, hopefully the team atmosphere of fed cup can lift her game.

Re: Heather Watson
She went 0-40 down but saved 2 of the match points in that game, getting it back to 30-40, before losing on Sevastova's 4th match point of the match. Not defending her - she should have won today - but just getting the facts right for you.
And to be fair, Heather really does save a LOT of match points on average.

Thanks, was following on live scores, and missed some of the points. Yeah Hev is definitely a fighter, she's got herself out of tight situations many times before and noone could ever accuse her of not fighting to the end.

Re: Heather Watson
There is reports circulating that Tim Henman is set to take on coaching Heather Watson for a 6 Month Trial basis. If true this could be really good for Heather and British Tennis.

Re: Heather Watson
Source?
That is... an odd combination. Henman, a serve and volleying grass court specialist coaching a baseline counterpuncher? I'll wait to see if it works though before making a final judgement. I'd honestly have expected to see Robson team with Rusedski for 6 months before Henman and Heather. Rusedski raised some good points about her serve, and could probably make some improvements with her in those 6 months.
We shall see.
