Re: Melanie Oudin
Such a better player compared to the Mel that played AO qualifying. Great to see the feet and head working at the same time.
It's all icing from here, imo. GL in round 2 Mel.

Re: Melanie Oudin
And a vital 100 ranking points. That will put her in touching distance of the Top 200!

Re: Melanie Oudin
Mel is being interviewed on Radio Roland Garros right now.
Talking about how she was very nervous towards end of match against Larsson because she wanted to win so badly.
Also talking about moving to NYC and training with Christina McHale and Patrick McEnroe.
Her goal is to get Top 100 by the US Open so she can get into main draw.

I think she reached 4th round in Wimbledon, not RG.
She had terrible record in RG. Didn't even win a single set before.

09 I thought she went out in the first round of qualifying. She did qualify and reach the 4th round of Wimboldon in 09, where she lost.

She was incredibly sweet. The move to NY did wonders for her. As it also did for Christina and Varva. The USTA must have a stellar program in NY

Re: Melanie Oudin
Mel is saying she's matured a lot as a person in the last couple of years.
She never thought about quitting tennis as she always thought the slump couldn't go on forever. She sounds positive in general.
Says that perhaps a couple of years ago she went away from the core elements of her game and went too offensive. Now looking to be more consistent and waiting for the right ball to attack.

Re: Melanie Oudin
Melanie played really well today. Lots of FH winners, lots of depth in rallies, keeping Larsson way back behind the baseline. She's not going to get past Errani, but this is just a huge, huge win for her.

Thanks I've always admired her positive outlook on her game ( even when she's slumping ) and about life in general

On the other hand, I think she has a good chance against Casey D, who has taken the first set there ...
