Well done, but (4)Lauren Davis (USA) will be a tough opponent in the QF. Lauren Davis is a couple of years older than Ellen and has won two tournaments on the Women's ITF tour in 2010 (10K & 25K)! Good luck though!
I still think Ellen did well at this tournament. She did what she was expected to do by reaching the QF, and she also put up a good fight against the very good Lauren Davis. Good luck next week at Eddie Herr!
Ellen had some problems with the umpire when she lost her 1st round match at Orange Bowl according to The Miami Herald:
The college coaches said they are also interested in seeing a player's demeanor in the heat of battle. Tuesday, they got a chance to see a meltdown by 16-year-old Swede Ellen Allgurin, who was very unhappy with the chair umpire during her three-set loss to Chichi Scholl of Pompano Beach.
"Do you hate me or something?" she shrieked after one call. When the match ended on a questionable line call, Allgurin lost it. She screamed at the top of her lungs: "You are so bad! You are so blind! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" Her coach had to console her as she stormed off the court.
This almost reminds me of Caroline's infamous 2006 USO. Let's hope this incident will mature Ellen into an even better player than she is today.
