It hasn't been easy for Christina this year, she has been stuck in a rut with little results to show for.

Yeah Christina lost to Ivanovic 6-4 7-5. A bit disappointing but it was a tough draw.

Christina's been a bit disappointing this year I agree, but it's not as bad as you say. I still think she's improving, just maybe not as fast as we hoped for. She's often beating the players she should beat in events (i.e. the lower ranked players) but in general doesn't seem to fare too well against the top players. She has 3-10 record against Top 20 players in 2012. She needs to start beating some better players and getting to the semifinals of some of these events instead of just R16/QFs. It'll be interesting to see how she does during the rest of the US summer as she has a lot of points to defend.

I really hope she can win her first WTA title before the end of the year.

Christina beat Voskoboeva 7-5 3-6 6-2. There was a rain delay at *2-2 15-15 in the third set but Christina finished off strong. Great that she was able to take advantage of the Sharapova withdrawal. Next up is Wozniak in the third round who beat Jankovic. If she gets through that she'll probably play Wozniacki yet again.

I really want her to get a Top 24 seeding for the US Open. Then she'll play one of the #9-16 seeds in the third round instead of one of the #1-8 seeds. So she'd have a pretty decent chance of reaching the fourth round.
