Re: Christina McHale

Well overall it was a great tournament. Another third round in a Grand Slam is very good. She's continuing where she left off from last year. But I can't help to notice that 90% of the time when she plays a top level player she gets absolutely wiped off the court and only wins a couple of games.

2009 US Open 2R: lost to Sharapova 6-2 6-1
2010 Cincinnati 3R: lost to Clijsters 6-1 6-1
2011 Charleston QF: lost to Jankovic 6-2 6-0
2011 Rome 2R: lost to Schiavone 6-3 6-1
2011 Carlsbad 3R: lost to A.Radwanska 6-1 6-0
2011 Beijing 2R: lost to Bartoli 6-2 6-1
2012 Auckland 2R: lost to Kuznetsova 6-1 6-1
2012 Australian Open 3R: lost to Jankovic 6-2 6-0

She did beat Wozniacki and Kuznetsova, it isn't a total loss.

She needs time to get stronger and better.

I wish her all the best in her next tournament.
The lopsided loss to JJ is unexpected, but then again Christina is still very green as a full time WTA player.

I'm happy for Christina as long as she stays on the upward trajectory.

i agree. the lopsided losses suck but she does have many quality wins also.

at this time, i think jankovic is just a bad matchup for christina.

Yeah, Jankovic is a bad match up for allot of young & up coming players. She's a very tricky and crafty vet

Btw, did anyone else notice Irina & Jamie in Christina's box last night ?

She's young, we need to give her a break

Christina on Facebook:

I had a tough match at the Australian Open 2012 losing to Jelena Jankovic 6-2 6-0. I look forward to the season and building on my experience down under. I would like to thank all my fans for your support, you guys are great!

Nice to know that both Christina and Maria, two of my favorites, are playing Paris.

Re: Christina McHale

Does she have any international events on her schedule? I reckon she could win a title or two this year.

It'd be nice she does it as a teenager.

I dunno. Monterrey can be a good choice, if Serena doesn't show up
