Re: Christina McHale
Can't believe I'm off work during the first 2 1/2 days of the Australian Open.
I'm getting all the chores and grocery shopping done ahead of time, and after that I'm not going anywhere, lol.
Go, Christina. Hope we get to see her play.

Re: Christina McHale
Christina won 6-2 6-4 against Safarova!
She plays the winner of Erakovic and Pavlovic next. She should get to the third round against Jankovic.

Sure hope so. Glad she did it, and in quite impressive fashion too.

What a match by Christina! She served 60% first serves and won 76%. She must have gotten stronger and improved her serves in the off season.
Hope to watch Christina on a live streamed court in R2.

Re: Christina McHale
Erakovic is next. Shouldn't be a problem for Christina.

Erakovic can be dangerous, she beat Victoria Azarenka at Stanford in 2011. Hope Christina continue to play good matches.

Re: Christina McHale
Go ahead, skewer me in the comments for picking two Americans. Honestly, I give American players no preferential treatment, and I think tennis plays up nationalities too much (excluding Davis and Fed Cup). But McHale's 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 24 Lucie Safarova was the second-biggest women's upset of Day 1, and an important result for the 19-year-old. Nearly in the Top 40, McHale needs to be winning first-round matches at Slams, particularly after her third-round showing at last year's U.S. Open. This will now be the third straight Slam she's reached the second round, and she'd never before won a main-draw match in Melbourne.

 X-Tina
She takes on Erakovic, which means there is a very good chance of the match being on a show court
