Serena's Fashion Line to Debut on HSN
Midlands kids get to play with Tennis great
COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - At the Rock ‘n' Racquets event on Saturday, several Midlands kids got the chance to meet up with Serena Williams.
While it wasn't Wimbledon or the US Open, for the kids from the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands it was the match of a lifetime.
"You know I love the kids and just having a chance to have them see me play hopefully one of them will be inspired," Williams said.
Serena says tennis will always be her first love, but she's also hoping to launch a superstar career off the court.
"Absolutely, I have my fashion line coming out," Williams said.
She revealed it's going to hit the Home Shopping Network in April at great price points.
"Then my clothing line, there are just some great dresses you can wear during the day or at night, you know, and then jewelry, I'm known for my jewelry, so it'll be a cool jewelry line that can be worn too," Williams said.
Some of her fashions could even show up on the court. Serena says she's still got work to do.
"Obviously I want to keep winning grand slams and get to double digits and do more and win double slams," Williams said.
