If Venus wins Zurich is she qualified for the YEC?
Is she 100%?

After this win she is qualified unless Aga does well in Linz and enters Quebec by WC.

Agnieszka would have to win Linz and Quebec both.

Venus would have 2522 to Aga's 2131. Aga would need to win Linz, 2406, and then enter Quebec by WC and win it.

I hope the field in Linz is thick because I think she'd enter Quebec!

Re: If Venus wins Zurich is she qualified for the YEC?
After this weeks points have been added to the race, Venus will have 2522 (should she win), and Aga will have 2131. So if Aga gets 391 points by then, she'll overtake Venus.
Linz: Max 275
Quebec: Max 140
So she could, coz there's 415 available (but it ain't likely). And as ^^poster^^ says, she would have to get a wildcard for Quebec first.
If Venus loses tomorrow, Aga will need 306 to go ahead of Venus (more possible, still not probable!)

Aga has Kaia, Petrova, Ana, and then Vera. Rough draw.

Re: If Venus wins Zurich is she qualified for the YEC?
Aga won't play in Quebec anyway She is too tired to play there
So it's quite safe to say that Venus is qualified now to YEC, congrats

Re: If Venus wins Zurich is she qualified for the YEC?
let's hope Venus makes it because can you imagine a SEC with Serena, Venus, Jankovic, Ivanovic, Safina and Dementieva all playing well. I honestly think it would be the best season ending championship ever. Also imagine if Serena and Venus are in the same section of the round robin and have to do blood battle to make it to the semis? my mouth is watering
Also, Vera is playing well lately so she could threaten....

It would be awful if Venus and Serena weren't in the same group, honestly. Too bad Pennetta doesn't have enough ranking points!

Exactly.
It would be an absolute joke if Aga somehow qualified over Venus.
Ivanovic, Jankovic, Safina, Dementieva, Serena, Kuznetsova, Zvonareva, and Venus sounds a lot more competitive to me. Trust me, I have nothing against Aga, but with the exception of Kuznetsova she wouldn't post much competition against the rest.

Re: If Venus wins Zurich is she qualified for the YEC?
Well, I think she will play there anyways. This is the end of season and many players have played A LOT, so I think it won't be a suprise of one(if only one) got injured.
By the way: Pennetta will probably be a second alternate so Venus should keep her fingers crossed not to get any of girls from her group getting injured lol

Re: If Venus wins Zurich is she qualified for the YEC?
If Venus wins...
she would be ahead of Sharapova..
and would be ranked 7...
Radwanskas draw in Linz is hard.. shes got
Pennetta, Petrova and ivanovic in her side of the draw
and would meet Vera in the finals
