Re: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova rise up the rankings thread
Another extreme choke. Up 40 in the 3rd, Tax Garbin d. Nastya 6-4 2-6 7-5.
Nastya is one of the mentally weakest players on the tour.
I would suggest you get a good coach. It will cost you million$$ if you don't improve your mental strength, and your serve

Re: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova rise up the rankings thread
Nastya beat Razzano 64 61 in Paris.
Much better. Closing out matches is an important part of this sport.

Pavlyuchenkova wants a smooth run
By Alaric Gomes, Senior Reporter

Dubai: Fast-improving Russian teen Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is aspiring for a smooth transition from the juniors tour into the highly-competitive world of women's tennis.
"The transition was tough at the beginning, both mentally and physically and it took me a while to get through some matches," Pavlyuchenkova told Gulf News.
"I didn't feel good at the start, but after some time on the Tour, I've begun feeling comfortable and it is pretty much the same feeling as I had while I was in the juniors," she said.
Pavlyuchenkova had the best Dubai debut as she pummelled the glamorous Maria Kirilenko into submission with a 6-2, 6-4 win in one hour and 26 minutes on centre court late on Sunday.
And considering that she is not even 18, it is a great achievement for the Moscow girl.
"Definitely, this is a big win for me and it gives me a lot of confidence that I can carry forward. It's all part of the process of adjusting to some new things on the Tour as compared to what I was doing with the juniors," she said.
"I always step on to the court with the feeling that I can beat anyone. I really don't care who my opponent is or how the other player is playing."
Pavlyuchenkova has had a terrific career as a junior. Her highlights include three Grand Slam singles titles, at the 2006 and 2007 Australian Open and also at the 2006 US Open. She also finished runner-up to Agnieszka Radwanska at the French Open in 2006. Along with these individual accomplishments, the lanky Russian can boast of another four Grand Slam doubles titles.
"I really want to repeat my junior performances. And though I love the US Open, I would target Wimbledon as I have not won there," she said.
"Wimbledon is something special and I recollect watching the DVD of the Wimbledon final in 1998 and 1999 and that has somehow stayed at the back of my mind. Today, it is definitely one of the goals for me," Pavlyuchenkova said

Re: Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova rise up the rankings thread
That's the Wimbledon champion beating a junior Wimbledon champion.
Big difference there.
