Best match your fave played and lost?

Post videos.

I'll go first.
Ana: Would have to be YEC SF against Justine l. 6-4 6-4, but made great efforts fighting from *5-2 down in the first and *3-0 down in the second. In the second she retrieved both breaks only to get broken again. What was amazing was that she was winning backhand rallies with an on-fire Justine after being demolished by Sharapova.

Check out the point when Ana hit a winner off Justine's overhead.

Clearly the 2005 Wimbledon final she lost to Venus.

YouTube it.

Re: Best match your fave played and lost?

Though probably not many would care but Strasbourg SF 2008 has to be one of the best matches of Chan(in which she lost to Srebotnik 16 76(8) 46,saving 3 MPs in a row in the tie-break).

She was literally firing winner after winner out of nowhere.

Re: Best match your fave played and lost?

Clijsters was not my favourite, but she played an amazing match in the SF 2006 YEC and lost 63 36 63.

Re: Best match your fave played and lost?

Most of the matches she lost to Clijsters and Henin Elena played very very well. It's hard to pick which one.

The Belgians definitely forced Elena to play her best.

Incorrect. I didn't see that match, but I don't see how her losing 1 and 3 could be better than her other loss to Radwanska this year in Charleston. THAT was magnificent stuff.

Agreed... Marta's loss against Venus at AO this year was after very good game as well.

Re: Best match your fave played and lost?

I can't think of many Marion matches, but I do think her loss to Radwanska last year in Stuttgart was a lot better than the scoreline reflects.

Re: Best match your fave played and lost?

Never enjoyed a Serena/Venus loss, sorry.

Anas hideous Dementieva-esque groans would put me off that one, along with the fistpumping.

Henin def Myskina 4/6 6/2 7/6 Eastbourne 2006 final

Nastya deserved that win

Of Vee:
Wimbledon 2005 against Davenport in the final
Wimbledon 2007 against Sharapova, that was just great
US Open 2000 against Hingis

and many more

Of Anke Huber
YEC against Graf (Final 1995)
and Masters Champions 1997 in Frankfurt (Win in 5 sets against Hingis )
