US Open MD Wild Cards
http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...c.php?t=445336
Bremond, Jackson, Rolle among US Open wild cards
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP)— Severine Bremond, a 2006 Wimbledon quarterfinalist, and former U.S. Fed Cup players Jamea Jackson and Ahsha Rolle were among seven women awarded wild card entries into the U.S. Open by the USTA on Wednesday.
The others are Americans Gail Brodsky, Asia Muhammad, Melanie Oudin and CoCo Vandeweghe. An Australian player will also receive a wild card.
Bremond, ranked No. 124, will compete through a reciprocal agreement with the French Tennis Federation, which granted a wild card into the French Open to a player picked by the USTA. This will be her 20th consecutive Grand Slam appearance. She reached a career-best ranking of No. 34 in February.
The 17-year-old Brodsky earned her wild card by winning the USTA Girls’ 18s national championship last weekend in Berkeley, Calif.
Jackson was ranked in the top 50 at the end of 2006, but spent much of last year recovering from hip surgery. Rolle reached the third round of the last year’s U.S. Open as a qualifier.

Re: US Open MD Wild Cards
I love Sév and all but giving a WC to a 29 year old who only has 1 win this year against a top 100 player is absolutely hilarious

Re: US Open MD Wild Cards
Sev can be SO much better. So stupid on court.
I hope Lauren Albanese gets a WC She's really picked it up this year somewhat.

Re: US Open MD Wild Cards
Lauren and Madison better get Quali WC's. They have both had decent results in the challengers recently, better than Asia and CoCo. But I am still excited to see what the youngsters can do.

All the American wildcards have been awarded. No MD WC for Albanese or Brengle.
Last one goes to an Aussie

If someone else withdraws so Stosur gets in directly, the wildcard will most likely go to Jessica Moore. Especially considering Dokic and Molik withdrew

Not only that, but if the buzz around Berkeley Tennis Club last week is to be believed, Vandeweghe just signed with IMG, and there's no way they're going to let their new bonus baby be kept out of the Open.
As far as the USTA's selections go, Jackson and Rolle's respective ships have already sailed. Albanese and Brengle should have gotten those wild cards.
