I watched just the second set and it was pretty awful. After that break back by Chan/Mladenovic our girls completely fell apart and their opponents just kept playing better and better. Still, another nice week for them ahead of a big one.
Hmm, I'm surprised--I didn't see this one coming. I thought Jurosi would be coming in full of confidence. But perhaps they were over-confident, or maybe they had a letdown after the very good last two weeks.
Oh, well, the loss won't affect their ranking at all, and I doubt it'll dent their confidence. Better luck in the next tournament!
Well, Rodionova is ranked higher than either of the Jurosi's, and was doubles #19 at one point while Lepchenko is not too far behind our girls at #65 so a pretty decent doubles player as well. That's why I said I saw it coming, especially after seeing parts of Jurosi's last match, which were anything but impressive. Oh well, onto the next one...
