Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
With this win she has defended more than half of her points won during September last year, and with another she'd defend virtually all of them. There's another batch left for her to defend later in the year, but I'm pretty sure she'll do it, probably by entering some of the big Asian events.
Great job Darija

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
What a milestone! Must feel good Congratulations Darija!
She fell off a radar slightly in recent months when it comes to coverage of her results on this forum, but she really is a great doubles player and deserves every bit of respect as the girls who play mostly singles. Not to mention that it's always nice to know that we have great players in doubles too in case we need them for Fed cup, eventhough Darija wasn't a regular in the team during the past few years.

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
Just shows how good decision it is for avarege singles players to focus on doubles.

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
What's more, 3/4 of her ranking points have come in just the last four months--and her four best results are all in just the last 2.5 months.
That means she has lots of room to improve her ranking until next spring.

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
Darija entered Seoul this week, lost in singles QR1 to Hampton in straights, but (what is more important in her case) she's also in the doubles main draw. Teamed up with Marosi, Darija will face a fine prospect in the opening round, as playing local wild-card entires really gives them an excellent chance of another quarterfinal appearance. But the draw wasn't so good to them beyond R1 - afterwards they'll most likely face the top seeds Kops-Jones/Spears.
Good luck!

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
Got through R1, but a lot tougher than expected - 10:6 in the third. Unless they can bring something better to the table in their next match, our girls are toast. Good luck anyway!

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
It's really too bad they have to play the top seeds in the QF. Darija/Marosi missed being seeded by a very narrow margin. The #4 seeds, Dushevina/Rosolska had a combined ranking of 95 last week, while Darija/Marosi's combined ranking was 98

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
Yeah...just saw and feel really bad for them. Would've been quite an achievement, to topple the top seeds. Oh well, onto the next event. Great to see Darija in Asia this time of year, where all the major action is happening.

Re: Darija Jurak cheering thread
Darija/Marosi got into the Tokyo draw as alternates when Martic/Hlavackova dropped out.
They're playing the #2 seeds, LL. Vives/Mirza and just won the first set 60

Big win for Darija: 225 points and over $8,400. Congratulations!
