Re: Lisa Raymond deserves to be in the Olympics
Lisa played in 2004. With Navratilova.
Huber is the #1 player in the world, and Lisa's not in-shape.

She's fit enough to make the Wimbledon final beating 2 of the best teams in the world.
I've always maintained that Davenport/Raymond would be the best choice for the USA after Williams/Williams, but I suppose Huber deserves it more based on her ranking.

The best option is Huber/Raymond.

Re: Lisa Raymond deserves to be in the Olympics
Like 2000 The best Doubles team would be Venus/ Serena. They just show up and WIN most of the times they played in majors.
They have THREE Wimbledons, one French, one US Open and TWO Australian, an Olympics title. Rankings be damned they are the best.

Re: Lisa Raymond deserves to be in the Olympics
i would say huber/raymond is better than huber/davenport because davenport is on shaky ground right now, but we will see i wonder who is alternate...

I personally think a Davenport / Huber team have more chances of winning a medal that the sisters do. The only thing they could bring them undone is that they have never played together before. Davenport / Raymond would've been a lot better but it's not going to happen unless Huber pulls out injured.

That's past history. The rules have given the sisters a doubles spot not their history. There is no set ranking outside one playing being in the top ten and the other doubles players and team can come from the other singles players on the team. They could have put another doubles specialist on the team as they can have a team of 6 or even another team but he USTA decided not too.

Re: Lisa Raymond deserves to be in the Olympics
I agree with everyone who said Huber-Raymond. Lindsay is in singles already and her health issues, though they should be done by then, shouldn't give her a doubles spot in front of two veteran and high ranked doubles players.

Re: Lisa Raymond deserves to be in the Olympics
Lindsay has retired in her the Olympics before..
Raymond/Huber should have been the best choice...
i really dont know why Lindsay was asked to play doubles anyway!!
she cant even give her best in singles...
