That's a good one for the Gators, especially after losing Julia Cohen

True but the question is how long will she actually stay there.

Re: 2009-2010 recruiting - high interest & verbals
Harvard picks up another blue chip in Hideko Tachibana.
With less than one month before fall signing day, I expect a flurry of commitments. Last year, practically all the blue chips committed in the fall. I'm curious if this year's class will follow suit.

Wow Harvard signs 4 for 2009 after already signing 4 in 2008 and 3 in 2007. That's 11 non walk-ons signed in 3 years.
In the same fashion Brown signs 2 for 2009 after already signing 5 in 2008, 3 in 2007 and 3 more in 2006. That's 13 non walk-ons signed in 4 years. Brown has a total of 16 players on its roster this year!
I wonder if the Ivy Leagues are limited to just 8 scholarship players like everyone else?

Re: 2009-2010 recruiting - high interest & verbals
Nice to see Penn getting a decent recruit. The Ivies don't have any athletic scholarships, so it's all about the coaches putting in a good word with the admissions office, and then players are just awarded aid based on need.

As said above, the Ivies don't get athletic scholarships. These girls are thinking beyond tennis and realize that the opportunity to study at an Ivy is more valuable than a tennis scholarship.
