I agree, a nice result for her and another step forward. I'd even consider skipping Bol 10k, cause she'll have to play qualies of Makarska 50k next weekend. Wouldn't like her to risk an injury or run out of steam before a large(r) tournament.
Another win for Tereza. In R1 at the $10K in Bol she beat Karin MORGOSOVA (#588) easily, 61 61.
One more win and she'll move into the 400's. In R2 she plays Chloe BABET, who took out the #7 seed, Karolina KOSINSKA. This is good news because Kosinska is the player who beat Tereza in the final at Hvar last week.
And another win for Tereza. In Bol R2 she beat Chloe BABET 60 76(4). This will bring Tereza into the top 500 for the first time!
In the QFs she plays Conny PERRIN (18 yo, #499). This is good because Perrin beat the #3 seed, Noppawan LERTCHEEWAKARN, who was until recently the top-ranked junior in the world. Also, Tereza beat Perrin just last week in Hvar in straights, 64 64.
It'll be interesting to see what happens next, cause she obviously can go further, but if she does she'll miss on Makarska 50k qualies. As far as I know, she can't get an SE for a 50k due to playing 10k the week before, right? A semi here gets her two extra points, while winning a round in Makarska qualies gets her one.
well, she won again. into the semis vs. pliskova.
if tereza wins, she could techinically play the final of bol and the first round of qualies in makarska on the same day. i remember tsonga playing in both surbition and queens on the same day (maybe in 2007?). the ferry ride is pretty short
Another good tournament for Tereza! With this, she'll move to a new career-high ranking of #480-485. She finished 2007 at #784 and 2008 at #619 so this is excellent improvement.
Unfortunately, she's defending a lot of points over the next 2-3 months: SF in Mostar last May (6 pts); RU in Budva (8), SF in Torino (6), W in Sarajevo (12), all in June; and qualified for Zagreb-2 in July (6). Hopefully her good form will continue!
