Will WTA force Top 10-er from s'Hertogenbosch to play Eastbourne
I think it happened a few years ago. Eastbourne has lost Ivanovic and Bartoli is doubtful after her comments today which would leave Eastbourne without a Top 10 player.
Can the WTA force one or more of the Top 10 players scheduled for s'Hertogenbosch to come to Eastbourne instead?

That's not true. Sveta is in the draw as a late entry.

Oh, thanks, I didn't know about Svetlana. Not one of my faves, but I'm pleased to have a big name to watch next week anyway!

Sveta,Lindsay and Amelie is enough!
They are all in the gold and silver exempt list, meaning they can attract crowds.

I totally agree that Lindsay and Amelie are crowd-pleasers and I will really look forward to seeing them. But the WTA needs to get more Top 10 players here.

I remember when Mauresmo was assigned to play Dubai last year because the field didn't fulfil the WTA's commitments to the tournament.
But Eastbourne doesn't have the €€€, I mean the prestigious history, of the Middle East events.
